Brew & Tech.

I have been involved with software development in some form my whole career, some of highlights below:

  • Taught software engineering courses with languages focused on C/C++ and .Net (ASP.Net/C#).
  • Worked for a major software development house focusing on Financial solutions for investment firms, banks, and property development companies.
  • Worked in the Microsoft Partner space, first working on delivering SharePoint and Modern workspace solutions and then Dynamics CRM and now the Power Platform.

My career has spanned a total of 21 years so far, across two countries, South Africa and United Kingdom. I am currently a Power Platform Solution Architect for a Microsoft Partner in the UK. In this time I have obtained many Microsoft certifications and I am also TOGAF 9.2 certified.

I discovered homebrewing about ten years ago, and ever since have been fasinated with the process and got even more intrigued when I discovered CraftBeerPi. Since I have built my own electric brewing controller with CraftBeerPi (CBPI) as the HUB. While I love the system and also the community around CBPI, I have some changes I wish I could make but as busy as I am, I don’t want to spend my spare time learning a new language, so I am going to build my own controller using .Net and a Raspberry Pi, specfically tailored to my 3 vessel HERMS setup. Ideally, I wish it to be a drop in replacement for CBPI and I can swap the controller software as I wish.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
